A Little Part of Pennsylvania

This is the view that is across the road from a quilt shop ( Mary Beth's ) I went to on Saturday. It is in Belleville, Pa on Rt. 655 off of Rt. 322. Their prices are reasonable for their good quilt fabric.

A lot of Amish live in this area, so you have to be on the look out for their buggies.

Along Rt. 655 you will find a wine shop, a place called Woolen Mills (that I have not been to as of yet nor the wine shop either ), and an antique mall called Dairyland. Also, right in Belleville, there is another little antique store, but it closes early on Saturday it seems.

My friend and I had lunch at Duffy's Tavern in Boalsburg. Since I have already posted numerous photos of the tavern on my blog in other posts... I did not take any on this trip.

Anyway.. the Pennsylvania landscape looks sorta like this from Harrisburg over to Somerset and Tyrone, PA. area. Their are views like this outside of State College and Tyrone and between Altoona, PA and Bedford, Pa.

Big expansive views of farm land mostly.

Looks like another rainy and cloudy day here in PA !

Have a fun day !

Hugs,

Linda

  1. Good morning Linda...what a pretty picture.
All your descriptions of the area made me so homesick - we used to travel to PA several times a year but haven't been in over a year now. Hope to come out that way in June.
I've heard of Dairyland Antiques...I just may have to look it up and Duffys...sounds wonderful. I think I remember you posting it and I had commented that it had a similar look to The Dobbin House in Gettysburg.

  2. Could you share the name of the quilt shop? I travel from Milton to Altoona a lot and would love to stop at some of these places. I never heard of Dairyland Antiques but would really like to check it out too.
    Thanks!
